You'll often hear of the "Great Commission":
Matthew 28:18-20 wrote:
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

But don't confuse that with the greatest commandment:
Matthew 22:36-40 wrote:
36Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. (KJV)[emphasis added]

Many people get these two confused. Sure we're told to reach out to others and 'evangelize' the lost for the Lord. But there's something more important and that's that we keep the Lord the focus of our lives. We aren't much good to Him or others if we try to help others when we're teh ones who really need the help.
